Last 5mi Training Run - Niagara Falls Marathon Training
New running vlog of my last 5mi training run of this marathon prep block is LIVE! Today’s goal was to test out my goal marathon pace and I walked away feeling challenged but good - here’s to chasing that sub 4-hour marathon!
Medicine Ball Abs
Busy days at the gym sometimes mean you just grab one piece of equipment and find a corner to get some work done and sheeesh that was the case last night in the apartment gym! All you need is a bench and a medium weight medicine ball for this one — let’s go!
Pull Up Progressions
As a fitness professional, it’s always irked me that I’ve never been able to ‘get good at’ pull ups and chin ups. Now, I know, I know — physiologically it’s a lot harder for women in comparison to our male counter parts because our center of gravity is in our hips rather than our upper body; but still, I don’t like not being able to do things lol!
Abs with the Sandbell
Alright y’all going into the weekend, I loveeee a second ab day! This one is sure to make your core burn — if you need any modifications, hit up my Instagram where you’ll find a swipeable post with video tutorials of each move!
Full Body Friday
Happy Friday, y’all! If you’re a CLT native, you know that this week it has been absolutely frigid outside - so, I thought we could all use a little “warm up” so to speak!
All you need for this workout is a kettlebell and a get-after-it attitude! I’ve listed the details below for this full body burner. Let me know if you have any questions or require any modifications in the comments below!
How to Stay Active on Vacation
I always like to be prepared for anything when I travel — no gym at the hotel, minimal walking areas, bad weather, etc. So, my favorite way to get ahead of any travel mishaps is to make sure I have a few things in my bag to use for my workouts so that I'm never able to make an excuse to not be active!
How I Got Into Running
Most trainers you meet will probably tout the titles of “former athlete,” “high school soccer star,” or “former track and field athlete.” Let me tell you - I was one of the most un-athletic kids out there and to this day I still have a personal zero-ball sport participation policy ( I'll dive more into my why here in a future post ).
Gym Tips
Okay okay — we've all been there. You're trying to build some thicc biceps ( glutes, delts, abs, ya know, whatever suits you ) and you've been stuck with that same set of dumbbells for weeks now. You want to go up in weight to continue to progress and add strength but you're just not quite there yet.
